We are pleased to announce the availability of Release and Deploy 24.3 release.

Key features of Digital.ai Release 24.3 include:

Live Deployments - track and view live deployments directly from Digital.ai Deploy and ArgoCD, enabling updates from both cloud-native and traditional middleware environments. It’s now possible to embed these deployments within the release process using webhook event triggers.

Analytics in Premium edition - Premium users now have access to Analytics dashboards, including deep-dive DORA metrics, workflow usage insights, and other persona-specific dashboards tailored for roles such as Release Manager, DevOps COE, Engineering Manager, Platform Engineer, and Platform Product Manager.

Release plugin for Backstage - the Backstage plugin offers a unified view of running releases and available templates within the Backstage UI.

Workflow enhancements - Workflows now support grouped tasks for better organization of execution. Usability improvements in the execution view include enhanced sidebar navigation and progress tracking.

Various UI and functionality improvements:

  • Updated navigation with consistent grouping and sidebar pop-ups for subpages in Release.

  • Simplified task addition with a searchable task type component.

  • Enhanced Activity logs with color coding, added search options, and streamlined navigation to open relevant logs from tasks.

  • Task Drawer updates: easier template selection for the Create Release task and added documentation for each task type.

  • Improved task copy API behavior.

  • Updated permissions settings and more.

Key features of Digital.ai Deploy 24.3 include:

User management and licensing updates - Deploy now includes both internal and external users (OIDC/LDAP) in the license count to ensure consistency across Digital.ai products. When the license limit is exceeded, new users will be unable to log in until additional licenses are purchased or existing users are disabled. The updated User Management page offers comprehensive details, including email, full name, user type, last active date, and license usage indicators, as well as allowing admins to manage login access for each user.

Enhanced plugins - recent updates to plugins, including Azure, Helm, JBossDM, Terraform, and Weblogic, deliver improved functionality. Additionally, Digital.ai Deploy GitHub Actions is now available in the GitHub Marketplace, enabling streamlined CI/CD workflows for building, publishing, and deploying applications using Digital.ai Deploy.

XL CLI updates - application deployment via XL CLI now has improved error handling, delivering detailed messages for easier troubleshooting. YAML configurations now include Vault lookup provider details for better credential security, and a new setting in the environment creation process allows for greater control and customization of setup requirements.

Miscellaneous improvements - a Lock mechanism prevents concurrent deployments of the same application version in a single environment when disabled. A new environment-level token manages missing placeholder values in configuration properties, allowing control over actions when required values are absent.
